Terms of Service

Effective date: 10 July 2026 · Last updated: 14 August 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Taine Goldsworthy, trading as Reel Eats (sole trader) (“Reel Eats”, “we”, “us”) for use of the Reel Eats app and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. These Terms cover users in Australia and New Zealand.

1. Who can use Reel Eats

You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to hold your own supermarket account, to use the Service. If you use it on behalf of a business, you confirm you’re authorised to accept these Terms for it.

2. What Reel Eats does

Reel Eats reads public recipe videos, extracts an ingredient list and estimated nutrition, and helps you build a supermarket basket from those ingredients. It is a tool that helps you shop your own supermarket account — it is not a supermarket, a grocery retailer, or a delivery service, and it does not sell groceries.

3. Your account

4. Connecting a supermarket account

The Service lets you sign in to your own supermarket account through the retailer’s own website inside the app, and then, at your direction, searches for and adds recipe items to your cart within your signed-in session on your device. You understand and agree that:

5. Recipes, nutrition and allergens

Recipe ingredients, quantities and nutrition figures are generated automatically by AI from public content and are estimates only. They may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Health & allergen notice: Reel Eats does not provide medical, dietary or nutritional advice, and nutrition estimates are not a substitute for professional advice or for reading product labels. If you have allergies, intolerances or dietary/medical needs, always check the actual product packaging and ingredients yourself before buying or eating anything. Do not rely on the app to identify allergens.

6. Reel Eats Pro (subscriptions)

Reel Eats is currently free, with no in-app purchases. We may introduce an optional paid subscription (“Reel Eats Pro”) in the future that unlocks extra features (for example goal-based recipe tuning, cross-store price compare, the meal planner, auto-reorder and full nutrition depth), while keeping the core features free. If and when we do:

We will update these Terms before enabling any paid features.

7. Creators

If you publish recipes or content as a creator, you confirm you have the rights to do so, and you grant Reel Eats a non-exclusive licence to host, display and share that content within the Service to provide it to users. Any commercial terms (such as commissions under a Founding Creator arrangement) are set out in a separate agreement. You must not post content that is unlawful, infringing, misleading or harmful.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Our intellectual property

The Reel Eats app, brand, design and software are owned by us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You don’t get any other rights.

10. Third-party services

The Service links to and relies on third parties (for example TikTok, Instagram, supermarkets, Apple, Google, RevenueCat and our AI provider). We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, availability or practices; your use of them is subject to their own terms.

11. Availability & changes

We’re still growing and improving Reel Eats. We may add, change or remove features, and we may pause or discontinue the Service, at any time. We’ll try to give notice of major changes where reasonable.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We don’t guarantee that recipe extraction, product matching, prices, availability or the Service itself will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act / Fair Trading Act that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Reel Eats is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from: incorrect ingredients, matches, substitutions, prices or nutrition estimates; anything you buy from a supermarket; or your reliance on the Service. Where our liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to (at our option) re-supplying the Service or refunding the amount you paid us for it in the 3 months before the claim.

14. Indemnity

You agree to cover us for claims and losses arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your breach of a third party’s rights or terms.

15. Suspension & termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others, to a retailer, or to us. Terms that by their nature should survive (e.g. IP, disclaimers, liability) continue after termination.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that place. If you use the Service in New Zealand, mandatory New Zealand consumer laws still apply to you. Nothing here removes consumer rights that apply where you live.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
